An Ahu Whenua Trust was established in 1998 to manage the affairs of the Oruamatua Kaimanawa IV Maori land owners.
As at 1 December 2024, there are six trustees on the Trust:
The Trust meets regularly during the year, and holds a meeting of owners every few years to inform them what the trustees have been doing, and of the financial status of the Trust.
The greatest aim of the Trust is to provide drivable access to these lands for the landowners as it is currently accessible only by a multi-day hike, or helicopter.
