Wild horses live on the Trusts land. Some may travel off the land to find food, but they normally stay-put. The wild horses are familiar with helicopters, and people. While they will retreat from people, they are curious enough to stop and see what people will do.
We sometimes take in salt blocks for them, which they really like. People love coming on the land and just sitting and watching the horses.
These horses are not the ones that are ‘rounded-up’ by Department of Conservation; Generally every three years, and found homes for them to live among horse lovers.
