Untamed and majestic, the wild horses on the Trust’s land are a stunning testament to nature’s beauty. While some may wander for food, they usually remain on the property, comfortable with helicopters and curious about visitors.
To support their well-being, we’ve recently added a new salt block for these remarkable creatures. The horses love the salt, and it’s a simple way we can ensure they thrive in their natural habitat.
Visitors are always welcome to come and enjoy the serene experience of watching these beautiful animals roam freely—just remember to give them their space and observe from a distance.
These wild horses are not part of the Department of Conservation’s round-ups, which occur every three years to rehome horses. They are unique to our land and a privilege to care for.
